School Development Plan

The School Development Plan (SDP) is the most important document for us as a school and indeed the whole school community.

The SDP: 

  • Outlines what we know about ourselves
  • Outlines what we see as our priorities for action
  • Puts these priorities into a timescale so that they are achievable and can be measured
  • Outlines the strategic priorities agreed by the Governing Body, Headteacher and Senior Leaders

The SDP plan is underpinned by detailed plans for each curriculum area.

SDP Objectives for 2025-2027

Objective 1

Quality of Education

WRITING

To further improve writing outcomes through Quality First Teachig using the Talk for Writing Model. To improve the children's capacity to compose orally their writing to develop coherent sentences and written pieces to ensure an increased % of Rec, Y1, Y2 pupils reach EXS & GDS by July 2026 (FBT Obj1)

Objective 2

Quality of Education SEND

To ensure all subject leads support and challenge the quality of teaching for SEN pupils within their subject. Ensure all children acquire the 'sticky knowledge' appropriate to their SEN status. A culture of SEND ownership by all staff will begin to embed. (FBT Obj 2)

Objective 4

Behaviour and Attitudes

To review and develop a consistent approach to behaviour management through a fair and consistently applied Behaviour and Relationship Policy and Procedure. Develop a 'different to' pathway for SEMH complex needs pupils (FBT Obj 2)

To review and develop a structured approach to playtimes and lunchtimes to improve pupil interactions to reduce impact on learning time. 

Attendance: Continue to challenge and support parents to improve attendance. FBT Obj 3

Objective 5

Leadership and Management

  • Governance - MAT development 
  • Leadership Team: Leading Together to support Middle Leaders ( subject leads) to increasingly lead and drive subject improvements (FBT Obj 5)
  • Mentoring of Subject Leaders through SLT and external support ( MAT ) FBT Obj 5
  • SLT CPD and embed Book Study process to enhance the SSE cycle ( CPD Aut 2025)

Objective 7

EYFS

To improve outcomes in Communication, Language and Literacy (CLL) through high quality vocabulary teaching by July 2026 ( Imrpove outcomes through high quality vocabulary teaching so that the introduction and etymology of new vocabulary begins to be embedded across school by 2027) FBT Obj 2

 

The Governing Body continually monitor the SDP through the termly Headteacher's Report and regular school visits.
