Half-term Challenge

In Science we have been looking at plants that can be found in Palfrey.

Your challenge is to grow your own plant.

Can you grow a plant from a seed?

Take photos along the way.

Who can grow the best plant?

Welcome Parents to our Year 1 page. w/b 18.5.2020

What a busy week you have all had last week. It has been lovely to receive so many photographs showing all the different things that you are doing.  Keep up the good work. We have suggested some new activities for this week. Try and have a go at some of them throughout the week.

A lot of the work we suggest will involve working online but we would love to see some of the other work the children have been doing so please take photos of any fun activities you are doing, drawings they have done, stories they have written or anything else you are taking part in and email them to the class teachers.  We would love to use these photos to create a gallery on the Year 1 page so please let us know if you do not want these photos to go on the school website.

Well done to those children who are continuing to do reading using the Rising Stars website.  A big well done to the children who have completed quizzes at the end of the books to earn stars.

These children have all earned stars in the last week:

Class 4: Abdullah, Ammara, Eesaa, Jameel, Juwairiyah, Zuhair and Saffiyah

Class 5: Fajr, Kaiful, Leana, Tawheed and Nouha

Class 6: Aaminah, Mahee, Eva, Ismah, Junaid, Yunus, Rafee, Saimul, Yusuf and Zanairah

A big well done to our champions this week, Kaiful (Cl5), Saimul (Cl6) and Rafee (Cl6) who managed to earn more than 10 gold stars each.

As an alternative you could also try the lessons on BBC Bitesize.  They have 3 lessons a day, one for English, one for Maths and the third subject changes each day. Click on Year 1 and try your best to do what you can.

Please do contact us if you have any problems and most importantly, stay safe.

Class 4: Miss Middleton

Class 5: Mrs Hennefer

Class 6: Mr Foster
